As we move through another busy season for the Canadian Brownfields Network, I am reminded of the strength of our community and the important role we play in advancing brownfield redevelopment across Canada. There is a great deal happening within CBN, and there are many opportunities available to connect, learn, and contribute.
This year we have welcomed a new team member, Neal Cameron who has joined us as our Operations Manager, this is an exciting sign of growth for the association and we are pleased to have Neal join us. We are also excited to officially announce the 2027 CBN National Conference, The Brownfield Shift: Trends Shaping Tomorrow, taking place on May 26, 2027. Planning is already underway, and we encourage members to get involved by submitting abstracts and exploring sponsorship opportunities as we build another exceptional national gathering.
In the months ahead, our educational programming will continue to bring important industry conversations to the forefront. This December, our webinar on Trends in Remediation will explore emerging technologies and approaches shaping contaminated site management across Canada. We are also looking forward to a special webinar and networking event in Montréal next March examining how brownfields are managed in Quebec and highlighting regional perspectives and practices.
Member input remains essential to our success. I encourage you to participate in our annual membership survey and help shape CBN's priorities and programming for the year ahead. Your feedback helps ensure we continue to deliver value and address the issues that matter most to our members.
This edition also introduces our three Toronto Metropolitan University student placements. We are pleased to support the next generation of professionals and welcome their energy and fresh perspectives to our organization. Read our October 2026 Newsletter here.
Thank you for your ongoing engagement and support. Whether through events, committees, webinars, sponsorship, or membership participation, your involvement continues to strengthen CBN and the broader brownfields community. I look forward to connecting with many of you in the months ahead.
Monisha Nandi
President, Canadian Brownfields Network
