Welcome Neal Cameron, CBN Operations Manager
By: CBN
Welcome to the CBN Team!

Meet Neal Cameron, our new Operations Manager! Neal’s connection to the CBN goes back to his undergraduate days, when a student placement with us gave him the opportunity to see firsthand how our members were turning overlooked and underused sites into places with real value. Neal brings to the position a unique combination of excellent organizational skills, urban planning and brownfield knowledge and a zest for outreach and connecting with people.
Meggen Janes, our Executive Director, says “Already one week in and Neal is making a phenomenal difference in our operations. His energy and enthusiasm will help us build on CBN’s momentum and create more opportunities for our members to connect, learn and collaborate.”
Neal says it’s this potential that first drew him to brownfields: “What intrigues me most about brownfields is the opportunity to take a space that people might overlook and turn it into something that can really shine. I’m excited to be back with CBN, learn from the work happening across the country, and connect with people who share that same passion.”
When he’s not thinking about brownfields, you’ll find Neal cycling. Growing up in Toronto, Neal loves exploring the outdoors both in the city and beyond. Cycling is his go-to, whether commuting and local social group rides to bikepacking trips and racing at the local and provincial levels.
“If you ask me what I’m up to in the early mornings or on weekends, it usually involves some sort of bike.”
And when he’s taking a break from the bike, there’s a good chance you’ll find Neal with a coffee in hand. After years of working as a barista and hosting corporate coffee workshops, coffee has become a big part of Neal’s everyday life from making a brew at home to discovering new coffee spots while travelling.
We’re excited to have Neal back with us and look forward to everything he’ll bring to the team and our growing network across Canada!
