Blooming on Brownfields
We’re celebrating the incredible Octavia Hill Garden in the UK by Blue Diamond with the National Trust and designed by Ann-Marie Powell Gardens. It is designed as an urban oasis to be set on a brownfield site that not only transforms land but has the power to transform lives. Clearly it resonated with the next generation having won the 2024 Children’s Choice Award!
Highlights of the urban brownfield garden include:
- 3600+ native and non-native plants to support biodiversity
- A pond, stream and wildlife observation platform
- Climate-resilient trees and pollinator-attracting blooms
- Reclaimed materials and low-carbon construction
- Accessibility design for all abilities
- A sound garden installation for multi-sensory exploration
Reclaimed land has never looked so good, a sanctuary template for our forgotten places.
