President's Message: December 2021 Update

By: John Georgakapoulos

In Fall 2021, the CBN continued to put forward cutting edge content and value to its membership. The CBN co-presented with ERIS a webinar on Adaptive Reuse Trends in the Commercial Real Estate Market and Implications for Environmental Due Diligence. This webinar involved an expert panel that discussed how the growth of ecommerce, the transformation of retail, and remote work are revolutionizing land development to meet the demands of a new real estate ecosystem. November 2021 also saw the return of the coveted Brownie Awards, showcasing the builders, innovators and visionaries dedicated to the redevelopment of brownfields that contribute to the growth of sustainable communities across Canada.

Looking forward into 2022, the CBN will be hosting its annual conference on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Brownfield Land Development: Making the Connection. CBN’s 2022 annual conference will be a two half-day virtual conference that will take place during the afternoons of April 5 & 6, 2022. This conference will explore the vital connection between ESG and brownfield land development.

On behalf of the CBN, I wish all CBN members Happy Holidays, and a healthy and prosperous New Year!
