Membership Renewals

By: CBN

The Membership Committee and our Executive Director, Tammy Lomas-Jylha, have been actively recruiting new members to the association. Through our network with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities we have attracted over 23 new municipal members to CBN. In addition, we have added a couple of new corporate members – helping the committee to exceed our targeted budget for 2022.

One of the more exciting events that the CBN hosted recently, was the Happy Hour at Steamworks Brewpub, in Vancouver’s Gastown, with sponsors Milestone Environmental Consulting Inc. and ERIS.  It was a wet and wild night, with over 46 consultants and environmentalists attending to enjoy local brew, hors d’oeuvres and some lively conversation!

Carol LeNoury, Vice-President of the CBN, Membership Chair and President of ERIS, spoke on behalf of the CBN. We were particularly proud that seven nominees from British Columbia were submitted for the Brownie Awards – and two of them won! REINVEST went to Esquimalt Harbour Marine Remediation project in Victoria, B.C., a collaboration of private, public and first nations working together to clean 40,000 cubic tons of contaminated debris. And in the BEST LARGE PROJECT category, Watson Island Redevelopment in Prince Rupert, B.C. won for remediating the site of a former pulp mill into usable parcels for redevelopment. Go B.C.!!

The CBN looks forward to hosting future get-together events in other provinces in 2023 and continuing to support and welcome brownfield project submissions for the Brownie Awards. Join the CBN network and get to know your fellow brownfield associates and the great brownfield projects that are taking place across the country.

If you have any questions about membership renewals, please reach out to our Membership Committee Chair, Carol LeNoury, at Cbell-lenoury@erisinfo.com.
