Membership Committee Update: March 2021

The membership committee has had two meetings so far in 2021 and has been busy revamping our information materials for CBN members and prospective members. Many pages on the website were out of date and the membership committee has taken a proactive approach to describing the services, benefits, and value of membership in the CBN, more clearly.  This required a significant amount of time in development. Tammy and Sim have been generous with their time assisting the committee members to better define what participation in CBN really means.

Additionally, the committee recommended to the Board of Directors that an additional category of member be added to the existing three categories.  We now have the public sector as a specific category for municipal, provincial, and federal government colleagues and those from public institutions, at an affordable rate.  We hope this will encourage our active public sector colleagues to join the hard-working membership at CBN.

Corporate membership will now be recognized with all 10 members per Corporation recognized in the NEW Membership Directory, another on-line tool to facilitate interaction and connection between all members of the CBN.

The membership committee was collaborative and reached out to resources far and wide. The committee contributed, our new administration worked tirelessly and we also worked together with Brian Eastcott and Andres Arroyave at ERIS to design the information marketing materials for membership.

If you are missing interaction with your peers and would like to encourage fellow Brownfield practitioners to engage with each other, invest in your personal knowledge and help evolve the Canadian Brownfields Network, the membership committee welcomes you to the CBN and looks forward to meeting you!
