Membership Committee Update: June 2021

By: Carol Le Noury

The membership committee meets monthly to discuss the status of membership, how to entice new members and to reach out to existing members with news and information, supporting other CBN committees such as the Conference Committee and the Communications Committee.  With updates to the website well underway, the committee focused on the membership campaign; social media, onboarding members and hosting a new member meet and greet webinar prior to the CBN Conference.

Membership to date with corporate members, public sector members, individual members and student members is 289 individuals.  Our membership target was 300, so the committee will continue actively recruiting new members in the third quarter.  Our work is not done until our goal is surpassed!

Membership has had its challenges during the pandemic with lockdowns in almost every province.  One of the key benefits of the CBN is the networking opportunities, and while the association is doing an amazing job promoting virtual activities, it is more challenging to meet new people and gain an understanding of their passions, positions and projects virtually.  CBN is proud to sponsor the Brownie Awards and we hope that this event in the fall will have in person as well as virtual networking to provide many members the opportunity to get to know one another, discuss their work and make richer connections.

The membership committee is expanding and looking for new committee members.  If you have an interest in connecting with people and a couple of hours per month to enrich our group and want to work with some great associates, please send an email to Clenoury@erisinfo.com.
