City of Saskatoon - 2026 Brownfield Incentive Pilot Program

Background
The City of Saskatoon is encouraging the redevelopment of private brownfield properties by offering financial support for environmental assessments, corrective action plans, and remedial work. This program is designed to help property owners address environmental challenges and prepare sites for future development.
Submission Dates
From February 2 to April 30, 2026, the City is accepting applications for the Brownfield Incentive Pilot Program. You can view the application form for eligibility with additional information provided at the Brownfield Incentive Pilot Program website.
Funding for Eligible Properties
Eligible brownfield properties may receive up to $50,000 in total funding. Funding may be used to cover:
- 50% of the cost for a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment.
- 50% of the cost for a Corrective Action Plan.
- 50% of the cost for Remediation Work.
Projects may apply for any combination of the activities listed above, but the total funding per site cannot exceed $50,000.
The program applies only to properties in the Established Neighbourhoods.
Decision Timelines
Funding decisions are expected to be announced in June 2026. All approved projects must be completed by June 30, 2027. Final reports with required documentation must be submitted no later than July 31, 2027 to receive grant funding.
