Steve Russell, Manager, Toxicology and Risk Assessment Services, MTE Consultants Inc.
Steve Russell has over 17 years of consulting experience in the fields of human health toxicology and risk assessment and is currently the Manager for MTE's Toxicology and Risk Assessment Division. Steve oversees the preparation and submission of human health and ecological risk assessments in accordance with O.Reg. 153/04 and federal guidelines. Steve attended the Twelfth International Conference on Remediation of Chlorinated and Recalcitrant Compounds in Palm Springs, California in 2022, and attended several sessions focused on current approaches in vapour intrusion assessments. Steve has been involved in many risk assessments completed under O. Reg. 153/04 which have invovled remediation or risk management to mitigate the vapour intrusion pathway. Steve has been involved in several large scientific research projects completed for various municipalities and divisions of the federal government and has also provided toxicology support in litigation cases.
Peter Sutton, Vice President, Environmental Services, Terrapex
Peter Sutton is a member of the Board of Directors of Canadian Brownfields Network, and Co-Chair of CBN’s Technical Advisory Committee. A licensed professional engineer and designated "Consulting Engineer" in the Province of Ontario, Peter is also registered with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks as a “Qualified Person” for both the filing Records of Site Condition (QPESA) and the submission of Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments (QPRA) per O. Reg. 153/04. Peter is currently Vice President, Environmental Services at Terrapex, a firm of consulting engineers and scientists providing consulting services in the environment, geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, building science and health and safety. In this role he oversees the environmental site assessment and remediation, environmental risk assessment, ecology, and hazardous materials service lines at Terrapex. In addition, he continues to provide high level consulting services in the areas of environmental site assessment, soil and groundwater remediation, risk assessment, and Brownfield redevelopment, as well as peer review / expert opinion services to clients in support of due diligence efforts, civil litigation matters, and subrogation claims related to soil and groundwater contamination.

Jason Hudson, Principal, Brownfield Sector Leader, Environmental Services, Stantec
Jason Hudson is a Professional Geoscientist with over 25 years of experience in environmental assessment and remediation programs. Jason has worked on major and complex environmental projects for the oil and gas, infrastructure, commercial, insurance and government sectors. Jason is currently a Principal and Brownfield Secor Lead for Stantec, helping clients work with communities to reinvent themselves with tailored programs to address brownfield sites and position them for redevelopment. He approaches brownfields as much more than a clean-up project—he places remediation squarely in the context of redevelopment, a strategy that reduces costs, shortens schedules, strengthens scope efficiency, and limits exposure to risk.
Jonathan Coakley, Senior Environmental Scientist, Remediation Specialist, Stantec
Jonathan Coakley is an environmental scientist and engineer, with over 25 years of experience in research, policy development, and consulting for a range of clients in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. His research career focused on exposure assessment and risk analysis for contaminants in the environment, specifically in the area of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), including emerging contaminants like perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Jonathan has held senior roles in the public and private sectors, managing investigations of contaminants in soil, air, and water, while coaching and developing teams to deliver projects on time and budget.
